TELEMATIC SYSTEMS

We recently developed a number of ICT driven technologies and systems for the real estate industry and rolled them out for GR8ESTATE. These included mobile broadband systems on Tablet PCs linking to intelligent mobile phone systems including GPS navigation systems and selected real estate agency computerised systems.

These Transaction Management & Service Management Systems contain all of the policies, systems and activities required to operate a 21st century agency. These systems generate leads then capture, process and manage the entire real estate agency business; seamlessly knitting the prospecting, pre-listing, pre-sale, after-exchange and after-settlement processes.

These hardware and software components are then combined into Socio-Technical Systems that support people with computerised systems instead of the other way around!

MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

We were the designer and developer of the APEC endorsed MRA Management System, a state-of-the-art system that automated the complex notification procedures that were required between testing labs, industry and governments. This system marked the first time information technology -  particularly the internet -  was used to significantly address the issues of implementation of an international agreement. It was especially significant that a New Economy system such as MRAMS had such a significant role to play in the full implementation of this Arrangement.

The concept of the world first web-based management for a multilateral international agreement was designed during our CEO's participation in the negotiation phase of the MRA process in 1997-98 while he was the Oceania Product Regulations Manager for Hewlett Packard. On leaving HP, he designed and developed MRAMS to store and manage all available information on regulations, standards, legislation and interpretations relating to Telecommunications for the APEC economies. It also included Conformity Assessment Bodies accredited and designated by exporting parties and recognized by importing parties and the management and manipulation of the enormous amount of regulatory data and required notifications associated with the MRA. It supported all forms of regulatory regime including Supplier's Declarations of Conformity that has being included into the MRA. The system was operational for seven years until October 2007 when the contract to supply the system lapsed.

REGULATORY AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS & ADVOCACY SERVICES

INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND STRONG NEGOTIATION SKILLS SAVING COMPANIES GLOBALLY - STANDARDS EQUIVALENCE

Since the negotiations that lead to the APEC MRA on Conformity Assessment in 1997 - and for the next 7 years - our CEO continued to fight for and finally gained the support to propose the concept of Standards Equivalence. This brought about  the APEC funded project “A Comparison of the Equivalence of Selected Telecommunications Standards” in 2005. This was the impetus and cornerstone for starting the negotiations for an up-coming MRA on Technical Regulations.  The Colony Park Group was selected as the contractor for this project. This project involved a detailed analysis of a number of product standards from a large number of the APEC economies. The main conclusions were that:

• for older PSTN based technologies, there was little scope for the recognition of the equivalence of telecommunications standards (although there is still scope for the recognition of safety and EMC requirements where these are based on international standards).
•  for new and emerging technologies, there was considerable scope for the recognition of technically equivalent standards.

It has also been involved with the Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and the Organization of American States (OAS) discussions on MRAs as a specialist guest and has developed and delivered training to many government representatives on the implementation of MRAs.
